Morning... 0645 Hrs, clients will be picked up from the Trans Asia hotel Proceed to yala via Ratnapura / Pelmadulla Check in for lunch. Refresh and relax the evening... besides the dry zone wilderness in which this chalet type hotel sit... nature surrounds you in this village in the jungle. Evening... early dinner and we sit in the A/C lounge for a Leopard presentation by the resident naturalist... a brilliant team that tracks the dense population of resident leopards at this magical park. Day 02 |

Early wakeup call... at 0630 Hrs as we head to the elevated restaurant... Breakfast and we leave at 0730 Hrs to the sacred city of Kataragama. A cool 75 minute drive will take us to the vicinity of the much venerated Devalaya well in time for the 10 a.m. pooja. We take our time in prayers... walk to the Kiri Wehera... bathed in sunlight at mid day but nevertheless... a hallowed experience. We drive back to the hotel for lunch... and in time for our evening adventure… Leopard safari at Yala national park. Home to the most dense population of leopards in the world… and many other mammals, birds and reptiles... best safari experience by far in the Island. A photograph of that elusive Leopard... and you would feel the joy and the deep satisfaction all wildlife photographers experience in the wilderness. Dinner at we sit out at the observation Deck … at Yala village under a million stars enjoying coffee. Dinner and Overnight stay at Yala Village. |

For the early birds... the resident naturalist will take you on a scintillating Nature Walk around the 10 acre forest patch where the hotel sits… Walk along the breathtaking tank... and we cut across to the rocky outcrops that Yala is famous for, look across the sea and spot the Basses and we climb down through a forest patch and head on to the sand dunes... twenty feet high, a natural barrier as hard as concrete that protected the hotel from the effects of the 2004 Tsunami. We then walk back through a thick bushy forest that is dense with dry zone butterflies... as the naturalist will help you identify the Dark Blue tigers from the Glassy tigers. Breakfast and we check out for our drive back to Colombo via galle with a stop at Galle for Lunch at the Lady Hill restaurant. We intend arriving back at the Trans Asia by 1730 Hrs |
